10/01/2003: this week's Enterprise

It seems I'm hard to please lately. :-/ I didn't much like the ep, however focusing on the positive instead of bitching for once, there was some stuff I liked about Enterprise 3x04 Rajiin (spoilers ahead, but nothing major).

I thought it was a nice touch that they traded spices for the Trellium-D synthesis procedure instead of precious metals or something like that. And I liked the Xindis' weapons, especially the one that was a blob at first and then exploded into shrapnel. It's nice to see them using different, efficient and "unfair" weapons and actually hit a lot of crew when they boarded instead of just shooting one opponent at a time with the energy weapon equivalent of a pistol. And overall I rather enjoy the Xindi. By Star Trek standards their internal politics seem reasonably complex, that is they have factions, and don't easily agree etc, and at least some of them don't just look like humans with some additional nose-wrinkles and such.
