10/29/2003: still working on that NW/DD illustration

Trying to draw rain sucks. Unfortunately you can't get around drawing rain in Daredevil, Nightwing or Batman pictures, since in Gotham, Blüdhaven and Hell's Kitchen it seems to rain like 90% of the time, at least during nights (who knows, maybe it's advanced weather control and they squeeze all the rain in the nights so that it bothers people less -- wish they'd do that here). Not that I really don't want it to rain there, it's just hard to draw and my attempts so far all look dorky.

Also if I continue to draw (US) rooftops, I need to find more photos of these kind of rooftops from that perspective. I have no idea what some of those contraptions you always see the shadows and silhouettes of in comics are. Some look sort of like water tanks (?) or something like that on the roofs, others may be support structures for billboards, others are chimneys and the like, but some stuff I've seen remains a mystery to me. And I have no idea where I could find these kinds of photos. I mean, they aren't the touristy panorama views and the like. Sigh. For now I guess I'm back to fudging with "unknown, black, shadowy object"...
